Terry has a long history of community involvement that started as a teenager on the committee for a youth club through to founding member of a branch of the SES (while constructing a mining township), Ran Employment Programs for local government, facilitator then Chairman of a suicide prevention charity, Incoming President of the Rotary Club of The Hague Metropolitan, President of an Australian Rotary Club, AustSwim instructor for a Rotary vision impaired program for children and snorkel instructor for Disabled Divers Australia and a marine care group.
Parents Beyond Breakup Terry has been a facilitator and commenced work on the National Board.
Political Lobbying Days before Christmas 2014 Scott Morrison cut funding to around 4000 organisation. Terry led the campaign which saw the organisation being represented in parliament by the Shadow Attorney General, secured cross bench senators and numerous others to have all funding reinstated (informed that around 400 got part funding reinstated).
Rebranded (from Dads In Distress which is now the main program) and media releases to ensure what the organisation stands for! This included presentations in Federal senate room, Federal Parliamentary Inquiries and public meetings.
Set IT direction including new phone system, Salesforce CRM, login attendance system, web site consolidation, training and other initiatives to drive productivity.
Rotary International Terry first joined The Rotary Club or The Hague Metropolitan (The Netherlands) performing several positions and was incoming President (a.k.a. President Elect) prior to the move back to Australia in 2009. In Australia he has been awarded a Paul Harris Fellow, President Award for managing the Hallam Primary School Kitchen Garden project, (including securing sponsors such as Veolia and Garden World) been a Rotary President, involved in Polio Awareness and became an AustSwim instructor to assist with the Vision Impaired Swimming Program which featured in local news and in 2021 a pavilion and garden facilities for a homeless service provider.
Snorkel Instructor / Disability support Terry regularly volunteers as a snorkel instructor for Disabled Divers Association (both pool and sea experience) and Marine Care Ricketts Point.
